Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation
I have been using this foundation for a while now and I am just now getting to my review. I know, I know, dang, but it literally just slipped my mind. The color I have been using is the shade medium 53, which leans warm but tends to be a little orangey. I have tried to apply this foundation every way imaginable and it is just so hard to blend. Once I get it on I like the way it looks but it is easy to apply too much which leads to instant cake face!
This is a swatch of the color. Right now it is waaaay to light for me since this summer no matter how much sunscreen I wore my skin decided to get about 5 shades darker.

My skin is more on the normal side but tends to be dehydrated at times so since this foundation is so matte it is easy to look cakey. I find that I like a kabuki brush to apply it best because since it sets so fast you have to work very quickly. I don’t like using my beauty blender or my Real Techniques blending miracle complexion sponge because it takes longer to blend and the foundation tends to set too quickly and by the time you are done blending one part of the face the foundation has set and it is hard to blend out.
Kat Von D just release all new packaging for this foundation along with concealers, brushes and a new setting powder. I am curious to find out if the foundation formula is the same or if it changed along with the packaging.
