Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and Blush

Ambient Lighting Powder and Blush

I purchased these from my local Sephora. When I went in to totally had the intention of buying these just different colors! Originally I wanted to get the Luminous Light powder and the Mood Exposure blush. In the end I got the two colors you see above: Dim Light and Dim Infusion.

Dim Infusion is described as a subdued coral blush fused with Dim Light to add warmth and the Dim Light is described as a neutral soft beige that provides a perfect balance of warm and cool tones to blur imperfections according to the Sephora website.

So what do I think? Hmmm well, I love them! I was especially surprised by the blush. When I swatched it on the back of my hand at the store it didn’t seem to have very much color payoff. What I liked about it right away when I did swatch it in the store was the color. It is definitely on-trend for the spring as I am seeing shades of orange everywhere! So that was part of the reason I decided to give it a try. When I got it home and finally had the chance to actually try it on my face a few days later I was in love! It definitely has a lot more color payoff when applied to the face with a brush. Much more than what I was expecting. I am actually thinking about going back and getting the other color I had originally thought I was going to get because I love the one I have so much. The texture is smooth and buttery and because it has the Dim Light powder running through it, it doesn’t look flat on the skin which can happen with many matte blushes.

As for the powder, the effect it gives is so subtle that it isn’t as noticeable as you might think. I love this powder because it is so lightweight and doesn’t cake up your makeup. I also like it because since I have a normal to dry skin type it doesn’t feel overly drying on my skin. Most of the time I actually skip powder because it can make my skin feel drier than it is, but not this one. The effect that the powder claims to have, in my opinion, is more noticeable in photographs. I’ve noticed that in pictures my skin seems more even and I love that.

Do you have any of these powders? I think I will be picking up a few more myself 😉
