Rimmel London Glam Eyes HD Review
I got the Rimmel London Glam Eyes HD in 002 English Oak from Ulta the last time I was there. I had never used any of the Rimmel eyeshadows and thought I would give it a try. I think for the most part these mini shadow palettes are priced right and have pretty good color pay off, but…
I do have a few gripes about these eyeshadows. The lighter colors are a bit flakey (as you may be able to tell by looking at the “highlight” shade in the photo below) so you will have to work with them more if you want a smooth and even color application. Which isn’t too much of problem, but still. Also, I know that the design of the palette is trying to reflect the brand and the UK flag but it makes it very hard to use. You would have to use a very small pencil brush if you wanted to use any other color beside the dark brown color in the center of the palette. Its actually really annoying. I was going to wear it today to test the staying power of the shadows and gave up before I even started. Just too annoyed to even try. Its because of this I will probably not be buying any more of these mini eyeshadow palettes. Its just not worth the effort.I have swatched the colors for you above. The top row the has eyeshadow primer beneath each shade and below does not have eyeshadow primer. Although the color is pretty good on its own, I definitely recommend using a primer before apply these shadows because it really transforms the colors.
Have any of you tried these shadows? What did you think of the design? Did it turn you off as much as it did me?
